1. Training to Farmers, Farm Women, Rural Youth, and Extension Personnel

• Regular skill-oriented trainings in areas like crop production, horticulture, livestock management, seed production, mushroom cultivation, and natural farming.
• Special focus on empowering farm women and rural youth through entrepreneurship programs.
• Capacity building of extension personnel (line departments, NGOs, SHGs) to strengthen last-mile delivery of agricultural technologies.
• Use of participatory methods, exposure visits, and hands-on demonstrations for effective learning.

2. Demonstration of Innovative Technology

• Conducts On-Farm Trials (OFTs) and Frontline Demonstrations (FLDs) to showcase proven technologies under local conditions.
• Technologies include: improved crop varieties, integrated farming systems, polyhouse cultivation, vermicomposting, and water conservation structures like Jalkund.
• Farmers are encouraged to adopt successful technologies after seeing results directly in their fields.
• Serves as a “living laboratory” for testing, adapting, and validating scientific interventions.

3. Extension Programmes

• Organizes Kisan Melas, field days, exhibitions, awareness campaigns, and farmer–scientist interactions to spread knowledge.
• Participates in national campaigns like Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA) and Krishi Swarna Samriddhi Week.
• Strengthens linkages with FPOs, SHGs, and tribal communities through outreach in remote villages.
• Uses ICT-based platforms, SMS services, and Kisan Sarathi portal for wider dissemination of advisories.

4. Farm Advisory Services

• Provides need-based, location-specific advisories to farmers throughout the crop cycle.
• Covers areas such as pest/disease management, nutrient application, soil testing, livestock healthcare, and weather-based advisories.
• Advisory support is offered via on-campus visits, field visits, telephone, WhatsApp groups, and farmer helplines.
• Helps farmers in quick decision-making, reducing crop losses, and improving profitability.

5. Supply of Quality Planting Materials and Organic Manure

• Produces and supplies quality seeds, seedlings, grafts, cuttings, and planting materials of cereals, pulses, vegetables, fruits, and plantation crops.
• Provides ginger seed rhizomes under the district’s ODOP initiative.
• Maintains demonstration units for multiplication of bio-agents, earthworm cultures, and vermicompost.
• Ensures timely availability of inputs at affordable cost, reducing dependency on external markets.
• Encourages adoption of organic manure to improve soil health and reduce chemical input costs.
